She started her political career of campaigning for Democratic candidates in 2001. She made it to White House deputy press secretary during Obama administration and was promoted even one step higher for Joe Biden’s presidential term.

As of March 2023, she hosts the talk show Inside with Jen Psaki on MS NOW and later on in May 2025 began hosting The Briefing with Jen Psaki. She recently talked about the Trump Administration issues especially about Donald Trump.

Psaki is married to Gregory Mecher. The couple has two children. The couple met at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2006.
